藻谷浩介『デフレの正体』角川書店 Kousuke Motani, True character of deflation

藻谷は、日本経済の停滞について、人口構成に焦点を当てる。消費に消極的な高齢者の人口比が増えていることが、日本全体の需要を押し下げているという。

この本の面白さは、そうした主張自体よりも、藻谷のデータの使い方にある。マスコミが作り出すムード、思い込みなどを、公開された数値データを使って、次々と打ち消していく。

地方は首都圏に比べて経済状況が悪い、人口の減少は生産性の向上でカバーできる、などの”常識”が、次々と具体的なデータで論破されている。

一方で、藻谷は、解決策として、高齢者から若年層への所得移転、女性の社会進出の促進、外国人観光客の増加などを提案している。

しかし、残念ながら、このパートになると、それまでの説得力のある藻谷の主張は、急速に勢いをなくしていく。確かに、主張していることは正しいが、少なくとも短期的には、実現性に乏しいことは誰が見ても明らかだ。

ということは、今後も日本の内需は縮小し続けていく、と考えるのが、正しい見方なのかもしれない。

Motani claim that Japan's aging makes economic demand decline. He proves his claim by many kinds of actual economic data.

His claim is interesting. But his way of proving by using actual data is more intreating. We can use his way for our daily many kinds of activity.

He proposes some idea to solve the economic problem. First is to move aged peoples money to younger peoples. Second is to encourage women work. Third is to activate foreigners coming to Japan.

But his solutions seem to be difficult to realize actually. It means that we maybe can not stop Japan economic demand decline.
